TEXTS AND BILLING
Text confirmations and opt-out keywords
When Ringwise texts a customer, what the texts say, and the words that stop or resume them.
Texting is off by default. We switch it on for your account after US carrier registration (10DLC) is approved. Until then, nothing is texted.
When a customer gets a text
- Only if they gave their phone number during the call.
- From your Ringwise number.
- A booking confirmation, and one reminder about a day before the visit.
- Texts are for appointments only. Ringwise does not send promotional texts.
Every text starts with your business name and ends with the opt-out line, Reply STOP to opt out.
Keywords
Customers can reply with a keyword. Capital letters and punctuation do not matter, but the reply has to be the keyword and nothing else.
- Stop texts: STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END or QUIT. The customer gets a confirmation and no more texts.
- Start again: START or UNSTOP. Texts resume.
- Help: HELP or INFO. The customer gets a short reply with your business phone number, if you set one, and a note that message and data rates may apply.
An opt-out applies across Ringwise, not only to your business. A customer who replied STOP to one shop will not get texts from another until they reply START.
Common questions
Can I send promotional texts through Ringwise?
No. Texts are transactional only: confirmations and a reminder for appointments the caller booked.
A customer says they did not get a confirmation text. Why?
Texting may not be switched on for your account yet, they may not have given a number, or they may have replied STOP at some point.
